Eloping at Whites Beach
Byron Bay, New South Wales, Australia

Whites Beach sits at Broken Head, south of Byron Bay. A walk through coastal forest leads to pale sand, rock formations and steep green headlands. It is a striking setting for a small ceremony and photographs shaped by the coastline.
Plan around the coast
This is a public beach, with a steep approach and rock steps rather than an easy walk from a car park. Parking is limited and there are no facilities at the beach. Consider everyone’s mobility, what you need to carry and the walk back when choosing your ceremony time.
Tides can change how much sand is available, and the beach is unpatrolled. Wind, swell and access conditions matter throughout the year; photographs beside the ocean do not require entering the water. Allow for a different setting if the conditions are unsuitable.
Read about the setting in this coastal guide and check NSW National Parks information for Broken Head. We help work through location permissions, the timing and a weather alternative as part of planning your day.
