Eloping at Whites Beach - Rachel & Dane

At Whites Beach, the coastline becomes part of the ceremony. Dark rock, pale sand and the sound of the sea framed Rachel and Dane’s elopement near Byron Bay. Their photographs follow the path down through the coastal greenery, then open onto the beach where they stood together for their vows.

Britt Withers planned the day through The Elopement Collective, working through the timing with them as their plans evolved. Afterwards, Rachel thanked her for the communication from the very beginning and the care that went into making everything happen as they had imagined.

Barefoot vows at Whites Beach

Josh Withers led their ceremony beside the rock face. Rachel and Dane held hands, read their personal vows and exchanged rings with the ocean close by. Flowers by Fifth Avenue Florist brought a softer detail to the rugged setting.

Rachel’s words afterwards captured what mattered most:

“Josh was absolutely amazing, making us feel super laidback and relaxed which is exactly what we wanted. Jase was unreal and photographed in such a natural way.”

Photographs shaped by the coast

Jason Lucas followed them across the sand and beside the rock formations. His photographs move between close embraces and wider views of the headland, with the whitewater making the landscape feel wonderfully alive. They are portraits with movement in them: a dress lifted, a hand reached for, the two of them held close against a big coastal backdrop.

“The day was more than we ever could’ve asked for,” Rachel told Britt. It is lovely feedback for the whole team, and a reminder of why the planning matters: it lets the couple arrive and be present for their own wedding.

Whites Beach is a public, unpatrolled beach reached by a steep walking track. Access, tides and conditions need to shape the plan, with a suitable alternative if the coast has other ideas. Talk to Britt about a Byron Bay elopement, and we’ll work through the setting and timing together.
