Eloping at Fig Tree Villa - Laura & Matthew
A garden ceremony, a pink vintage car and a table waiting for their favourite people: Laura and Matthew’s elopement brought together some lovely corners of Byron Bay. There was room for the wedding to unfold across the day, from getting ready among the palms to settling in for a small reception at The Farm.
Britt Withers planned it all through The Elopement Collective, with Josh Withers leading their ceremony and George Bowden photographing the moments in between.
Garden vows at Fig Tree Villa
Their base was Fig Tree Villa in Ewingsdale. The garden wraps the little villa in green: tall palms, tree ferns and a lawn that feels made for gathering close. Laura and Matthew got ready here before joining their guests beneath the canopy for personal vows.
White flowers by The French Petal sat beautifully against the foliage. George’s photographs move from the small details of getting dressed to the smiles during the ceremony, then out into the garden with the two of them. That wide portrait beneath the palms says so much about the setting: plenty of space, with the couple right at its heart.
A pink Holden and dinner at The Farm
May The E.K, a dusty-pink vintage Holden, added a little colour to their travels. Their portraits took in the open countryside before the celebration continued at Three Blue Ducks.
A long table, candles, a small white cake and time with their guests gave the reception its shape. The photographs wander outside too, along the farm track and past the greenhouse, before returning to glasses raised together. The Elopement Collective also made their content film, bringing another little piece of the day home with them.
This is one way to elope in the Byron region: choose a place to stay, bring a few people close and leave time to enjoy what comes after the vows. Tell Britt what you have in mind, and we’ll help bring it together.
